As a dedicated classical guitarist and teacher, Rob has worked closely with Suzuki families for over fifteen years. He trained with the very experienced pedagogue Andrea Cannon in Washington, D.C. and holds Performance degrees in classical guitar from the Glenn Gould School of Toronto’s Royal Conservatory of Music and The Peabody Conservatory of Johns Hopkins University. Additional private studies took Rob to Italy and Germany.

As a performer, Rob specializes in contemporary classical music as a freelance soloist and chamber musician. A founding member of ChromaDuo in 2007, he regularly commissions, records and performs new repertoire throughout North America, as well as in England and Germany. The duo’s three albums on the Naxos recording label are renowned in the global guitar community. Composer/guitarist Sergio Assad has said ChromaDuo’s oeuvre would not only “enter and enrich the traditional repertoire of guitar duos across the world in the
coming years,” but that it “would have a larger impact: it will further sediment guitar duos, this great way of expressing musical art.”

Rob teaches at The North York Suzuki School of Music, The MNjcc Suzuki Program, and The University of Toronto.
