About Our School

The North York Suzuki School of Music, formerly the Seneca
Suzuki School of Music, has been located in the North York
area of Toronto for over 40 years. The school is run by the
teachers and their administrator.

Our faculty members are highly skilled and dedicated professionals. They continue to be involved with teacher training, workshops, Suzuki conventions and Institutes to keep abreast of ideas and experiences that will help them in their teaching practices. All teachers are members of and have been accredited by the Suzuki Association of the Americas, and they are also members of the Suzuki Association of Ontario.

School Year

Our school year totals 35 - 36 weeks. Students also receive anywhere from 26-32 group classes in the year. These group classes are part of the curriculum and not optional. During the summer, teachers offer days that they are willing to teach, and families sign up for as many lessons as they wish. We often offer special summer sessions of more intense focus in theory, orchestra and the like. Students will also have 5-6 opportunities to perform.
